In November 2007 I
arranged for a small group of nine New Zealanders to visit Cambodia. A
well-informed Cambodian colleague recommended that I contact Sok Sam of
Angkor Adventures to manage the Siem Reap stage of our voyage. I am so
pleased that I did so! Our group wanted an informative guided trip of
Angkor, as well as hotel and transfer details organised. Sok Sam managed
this package in a very professional, prompt and helpful manner, without
a hitch. He did so much more than this for us, however. In particular,
Sam made an effort to personally connect with each member of our group.
In keeping with our wishes, he found us a tour guide who not only
discussed the temples in an engaging and informative way, but who
informally chatted away to us about life in Cambodia for himself and his
family. Sok Sam treated us as though we were respected friends, not just
tourists passing through. He and his team left a huge impression on my
travel group. For us, Siem Reap has a magnificent heritage but Angkor
Adventure’s staff helped us fall in love with Cambodia and its people.

It is with great
pleasure that we commend the excellent services provided by Sok Sam of
Angkor Adventures. We were visiting Cambodia for the first time and due
to a family bereavement found it necessary to cancel our scheduled tour
of Siem Reap. Sok Sam proved extremely helpful in attending to the
re-scheduling of our visit a few weeks later and we have the utmost
respect for his professionalism in dealing with our rescheduled trip.
We were met by Sok
Sam at the hotel he had selected for us. He and his team provided us
with first rate support throughout our stay in Siem Reap. The hotel
accommodation and our itinerary for our two and half days in Siem Reap
exceeded our expectation and we therefore have no hesitation
recommending his company’s services.
Our thanks go to
Sok Sam and his support team for making our stay in Siem Reap such a
memorable event.

I would like to heartily recommend to anyone considering traveling to
the country of Cambodia to contact Angkor Adventures and employ their
services. During my stay in Cambodia I used Angkor Adventure's services
for every aspect of my trip, from securing my accommodation, obtaining
guide and transportation services, down to acquiring my tickets for
travel out of the country. I was treated with the utmost of respect and
professionalism, and on top of it was shown the time of my life. The
prices were very reasonable, also. The staff at Angkor Adventures are
not only informative and reliable, they're a LOT of fun. I had the time
of my life in Cambodia, and I feel very lucky that I was able to meet
and spend time with everybody I was introduced to through the services
of Angkor Adventures. I'll be back there next year.

On a recent trip to Thailand, we set aside two days for a visit to
the beautiful Angkor temples in Siem Reap. Given our time constraints,
we wanted to ensure that we got the most out of our stay in Siem Reap.
Angkor Adventures helped us plan every aspect of our visit and helped us
save very substantial amounts on everything from our hotel (which was
wonderful) to our plane tickets from Bangkok. More importantly, our
visits to the temples were infinitely improved by our very knowledgeable
and friendly guide, who did much more than simply recite dates and
names. We were even invited to enjoy an authentic and delicious Khmer
meal in a Cambodian home. I highly recommend Angkor Adventures to anyone
planning a trip to Cambodia.

Thea, what an exciting adventure that was. I was getting green with
jealously reading your latest email and thinking about what we saw when
we were traveling with you, in and around Siem Reap, Phnom Penh ect....
Our trip really was an eye opener for me (us). I felt very much at home
in Cambodia, even during our short 10 days, I grew to love the
countryside, the palm trees (Borassus), the (ancient) history, you, your
people... Thank you.

After a lapse of almost forty years since my last visit to Cambodia and
the temples of Angkor, we returned on a family trip in May-June, 1999,
that was arranged by Sok Thea of Angkor Adventures. In addition to
excellent hotel rates (which were far lower than those quoted by these
same hotels over the Internet), Thea also supplied safe vehicles in both
Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, a capable and courteous driver, and an
excellent and flexible English-speaking guide who helped make the
temples comprehensible and was willing to deviate from the standard
itinerary in order to accommodate our special interests. We had a
totally customized tour without any surprises or complications at a
price far lower than that quoted to us by other travel agents. We have
recommended Angkor Adventures to others and plan to have Sok Thea make
arrangements for our return trip to Cambodia and Laos in May, 2000.

Angkor is incredible. To be honest, words cannot really do it justice.
However, Cambodia has many other temple sites waiting to be discovered,
and Sok Thea from Angkor Adventures helped me do just that. Our trip to
Beng Melea, an overgrown temple still very much in its natural state and
comparable in size with its more famous sister, Angkor Wat, was the most
memorable highlight of my whole trip to Cambodia in December, 1999. We
did the trip the hard way, by moto, but exploring Beng Mealea made it
all worthwhile, and my own experience was enhanced by Sok Thea's
enthusiasm and professionalism throughout.

When my wife and I were planning a trip to Cambodia in 1998, I found it
impossible to locate a travel agent in Virginia who could arrange the
trip I wanted to Angkor that was not part of a group tour. I went online
to the Cambodia web site, and there picked a travel agent in Phnom Penh
out of cyberspace, as it were. I didn't know it then, but the one I
picked had Sok Thea as its English¬speaking contact person in Cambodia,
and he subsequently arranged our trip from Bangkok to Siem Reap,
accommodations there, a tour of the ruins with an excellent guide and
skillful driver, and went on to make the arrangements for our subsequent
visit to Laos with accommodations in Luang Prabang. At every stage of
the lengthy e-mail negotiation, Sok Thea not only demonstrated his
expertise, but kept me up with what he was doing. He made arrangements
for a Bangkok travel agent to have my tickets waiting at a hotel when we
returned from Nepal ("Don't worry, don't worry," said Miss Cherry N when
I telephoned, "I do everything perfect for you." And she did), and
everything he did was exactly what he promised. Sok Thea is reliable,
honest and gets the job done, with both economy and a real desire to be
helpful. He is also very personable, and not only does the travel
arrangements, but represents his country to the outside world superbly.

Angkor Adventures added immeasurably to our experience at Angkor Wat.
Our guide provided great information about how the temples fit into
9th-12th century life, and knew every nook and cranny of the ruins. We
also appreciated having someone to help make arrangements before we
arrived, and to whom we could direct questions about life and social
customs in present-day Cambodia. We can heartily recommend working with
Sok Thea when visiting Cambodia.
